Influences
We are all influenced by our surroundings. Our family and friends impact our lives in a permanent way that will never be forgotten. Nils Crusberg was influenced by his grandmother who taught art in Meriden, CT for the majority of her adult life. His immediate family and friends always encouraged him to be creative.
His classmates had amazing skills and they certainly influenced his approach and technique. The realization that fine art is more than just a decoration and the fact that it can have emotional, spiritual, and political definition is one thing that keeps Nils subsumed in it’s forces. You might recognize some of the images listed on the slideshow below. That is because Nils adopts various concepts from the past, present, and future.
